MATTHEW DARIUS CAMPBELL is a twenty something-year-old songwriter born and raised in Midwest, who grew up listening to The Beach Boys and singing in classic rock cover bands. Call him a solo artist in the vein of Beck, and also a performer whose honest tone pulls on your heart strings, as if he were Justin Vernon from Bon Iver.
The many facets of Matthew's songs are as plentiful as the blades on a swiss army knife. And every artist that he has been influenced by show - as if they were shiny knife blades, sticking out and cutting through the barriers that once separated genres of music in the ‘90s and early 2000’s. His music is a kaleidoscope for the ear lobes. Twisting indie-folk and post-grunge into a new rendition, where music notes of all types are accepted. A place where original pop-rock songs can freely merge with hip-hop covers and vise versa.
Matthew is now based in Melbourne, Australia and establishing himself as an songwriter to watch. Some notable achievements include the touring in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia; glowing features on international tastemakers including Music Connection and Atwood Magazine; and winning the Parachute Music Grant 2017.
